What this class works with
A standing sequence framed around meeting balance with curiosity rather than an endpoint. Parveen returns throughout to the question of whether we are ordering balance or receiving it. The class builds from a two-part pendulum (cross and forward-back) into a little dancer to tree pose flow, then transitions from tree directly into Warrior 1.
In this class
- •Cross pendulum and forward-back pendulum, weaving between the two
- •Shoulder play in the standing forward bend: one shoulder forward, then the other, molding the space in front of the body
- •Dynamic pendulum with heel lift into a deeper dip
- •Side bend into the goddess pose with longer exhalations, noticing left and right side energy differences
- •Pendulum into little dancer (Natarajasana-style balance with one leg lifted from the pendulum)
- •Little dancer condensing and expanding into tree pose (Vrikshasana), rounding and opening the arms
- •From tree, stepping the lifted leg back directly into Warrior 1
- •Three-legged downward dog into high plank, four-point kneeling, child, cat, cow
- •Recurring pattern between cycles
- •Ragdoll with hands clasped behind the back (belt optional if hands don't reach), letting the weight of the body pour into the shoulders and head
- •Windshield wipers, Shavasana with legs resting on a chair
